hi folks,
From Puerto Vallarta came over to do some chores today. the retreat has been
so good. We've been busy every day, the weather is gorgeous first few days were
cloudy and cooler so perfect for the acclimatizers and then yesterday it came on
sunny and breezy so perfect for sitting out at the beach.
We've been getting up for meditation at 7:30AM on the deck, sun is still
behind the mtns just a red glow. We do an hour plus with breathing etc and take
a break for 30 minutes for tea and fruit and at 9 do a good 2 hours of yoga
standing series. There are beginners in the group and they are doing so well,
the more experienced work at deepening their practise.
At 11 we go down for a delicious brunch, eggs, potato pie, salads fruit and
green and breads or muffins. The cooking is done by a German woman who has
worked for the 5 star yoga resort in town and she is an amazing cook. We are so
lucky and she has been so good with our people with food sensitivities.
After brunch we help clean up and change to go to the beach or river for the
afternoon. The
swimming is great and we walked up the river one day for drifts down the
pools. There are sandy beaches all along the river.
At 4 we head back we did do a Spanish class one day we rest up shower and do
a 5 to 7PM yoga class in the shade on the upper deck while the moon comes up and
the sun sets. We have been doing mostly restorative yoga in the afternoon and
inversions using props. As we are outside there are always amazing birds etc
around us.
Verena makes us all 3 to 4 course supper and we will meet for massages after
dinner or talking and to bed with our books fairly early, sleeping has been so
good with screened rooms the sound of the wind and waves lapping below us.
Sleeping with just a sheet and light blanket.
We continue until Friday morning and then we will stay until Sat or Sunday
morning. Yesterday there were 5 Para gliders flying above the bay playing in the
currents for more than an hour, if it works out Ann and I will give it a whirl
in the next few days.
Rieko brought a kayak out yesterday and we got out for a paddle along the bay
there are some beautiful rocks and the famous blue footed boobies hanging
around, lots of pelicans, egrets and cormorants.
We hope everyone is well and enjoying their winter times, we send love and
light sun from Yelapa.
Love Brenda and Rieko
We wish you could all be here
